Indy Johar

Indy is an architect, institution designer & co-founder of strategic design agency 00.

On behalf of 00, Indy has co-founded multiple social ventures from Impact Hub Westminster to Impact Hub Birmingham and the HubLaunchpad.net - Open Venture Accelerator] and has also co-led research projects such as The Compendium for the Civic Economy, whilst supporting several 00 explorations/experiments. Indy is an Advisor to the Earth Security Initiative and a director of WikiHouse Foundation and Civic Systems Laboratory.

Indy was Director of the Global Impact Hub Association and Impact Hub Islington [the original Impact Hub in the Hub Network] and worked with Jonathan Robinson to design the protocols and modes of the network scaling.

Indy has taught & lectured at various institutions from the University of Bath, TU-Berlin; Architectural Association, University College London, Princeton. He has given lectures and led discussions on various issues, including how strategic design meets policy and a new economy in various forums from Demos, Centre of Social Justice, Helsinki Design Lab, European Parliament, LSE, Royal Academy, Royal Society of the Arts and Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. He has written for many national and international journals on the future of design, social systems and venturing. Indy is a Fellow of the RSA, Demos Associate, Respublica Fellow, JRF Anti-Poverty Strategy Programme Advisory Group member and a member of the Mayor of London’s SME Working Group.
